The seemingly never-ending construction on the Route 422 Betzwood bridge may actually be coming to a close.
PennDOT Secretary Leslie Richards said last Friday that westbound drivers on Route 422 between routes 23 and 363 near King of Prussia will use the newly constructed bridge over the Schuylkill River by year’s end, writes Matt Carey for readingeagle.com.

Speaking at a press conference near the bridge, Richards said the ongoing $97.4 million project represents a major step forward in alleviating traffic congestion in the area, which encounters about 92,000 vehicles a day.”We know what a positive impact this will have on the Valley Forge area,” Richards said.

When both sides of the bridge are finished – target date 2020 – the span will include two travel lanes in both directions, along with third lanes in each direction for on- and off-ramps at the interchanges.In addition, the upgraded bridge will be wide enough to accommodate additional travel lanes that could be installed in the future.
