A family-owned company has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation on a popular hotel and conference center, and adjoining country club, and is now making a concerted effort to attract corporate clients.

The shift in focus comes at a time when hotel, lodging and meeting facilities not only compete with traditional properties in a “saturated” market but also with digital means of meeting that eschew the need for physical space, writes Kenneth Hilario for Philadelphia Business Journal.

At about 400 employees, Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center is the ninth-largest family-owned and operated business in the region, according to the Philadelpia Business Journal‘s 2017 Book of Lists.

The facility is owned by Hansen Properties, which also owns the Blue Bell Country Club. The family-owned company has completed a nearly $4 million renovation to both properties.

About $1.7 million worth of renovations were made to Normandy Farm, including new furniture and fixtures in the 113 hotel rooms; audio-visual upgrades in the conference center; and an overhauled Wi-Fi system.

Upwards of $2 million was spent for the country club; changes include an outdoor fire pit, repairs and replacements of the cart paths, new bunkers and a new irrigation system.

Completing the renovation at Normandy Farm was the addition of a contemporary art gallery in the conference center in partnership Bluestone Fine Art Gallery.
