You’ve heard the stats – Philadelphia has the fastest-growing population of millennials in the country.

But what about the suburbs? Even though the city and the national urban revival gets a great deal of deserved attention, most millennials across the country will not settle within the borders of a a major American city, begins a recent Philadelphia Business Journal article.

So that led us to this question: What suburbs in Greater Philadelphia are the best places for millennials, most often defined as people born in 1982 through 1997?

For an answer, the Philadelphia Business Journal turned to our friends at Niche.com to find out. We like Niche, because the criteria they use to come up with their rankings are based on statistics and objective facts.

Niche based their ranking on 11 data points. These were weighted the highest:

  • Percentage of residents between the ages of 25 and 34.
  • Proximity (per square mile) and the availability (per capita) of bars and similar establishments.
  • Proximity (per square mile) and the availability (per capita) of coffee shops and similar establishments.
  • Proximity (per square mile) and the availability (per capita) of full-service restaurants.
  • Percentage of residents who have received a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Montco not only leads all surrounding counties with 14, we also nabbed the top 3 spots!
