The Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Council (Montco CAC) is pleased to announce its new Affiliate Partnership with MONTCO.Today.

The Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Council is a 501c3 based in Norristown and dedicated to helping children of all ages to reach their full potential. Montco CAC also looks for opportunities to help at-risk children when possible and is a proud sponsor of the Centre Theater Music School and the theater’s Kids Movie Club.

Montco CAC recently made a donation to Elmwood Park Zoo’s blind and visually impaired programs. Continuing its partnership with Overbrook and Royal-Greaves schools for the blind, Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Boulevard, Norristown, delivers sensory learning programs for blind and nearly blind children in our community. Imagine their field trip passing through our gates: excitement rising as they hear the faint sound of African music playing in the distance; they know the giraffes must be close! A sense of accomplishment falls over the children as they navigate the zoo, learning lessons to which no textbook could ever compare, nor any classroom ever emulate.

Montco CAC also recently made a donation to the Norristown Area High School football program to aid student athletes in their off-field pursuits, including the sponsorship of their elementary school reading program. Members of the football team take time out of their day to visit district elementary school’s to read to the younger students.

Montco CAC board members include MONTCO.Today publisher Stan Huskey, Oscar Vance, Tom O’Donnell, Jason Powel, Josh Chung and Tony Leodora.
