After two very successful events, the third annual Ambler Bike Race has been selected for the 2017 PA State Masters Criterium Championship, writes Linda Finarelli for The Ambler Gazette.

The inaugural race was organized two years ago by the local nonprofit amateur cycling team Zen Masters Racing, along with Ambler Main Street, and the Borough of Ambler.

This year’s all-day event will kick off at 8:30 A.M. on August 19 and is expected to draw 400 riders and over 1,000 spectators from around the world. To keep people entertained between races, there will also be streaming music, vendors, food trucks and, for the first time, a beer garden.

The day will start with a 5K race, followed by seven races in both the masters and open categories as well as two races for kids. Wrapping the event up will be the popular 33-meter Men’s Pro 1/2/3.

“We are excited to once again welcome cyclists from around the world to Ambler for our third annual Criterion Bike Race,” said Ambler Mayor, Jeanne Sorg. “The great thing is you don’t have to stay long to feel the excitement.”
