Audubon-based J. P. Mascaro & Sons has increased the company’s employee awareness program for the coronavirus health crisis.

Audobon’s J.P. Mascaro and Sons, Lower Pottsgrove’s waste hauling and recycling services contractor, has donated $50,000 to the YMCA’s of Pottstown and Audubon, writes Joe Zlomek for Sanatoga Post.

However, Mascaro is not stopping there and is offering up to $50,000 in matching grants to other businesses in the area that make a donation.

A significant part of this donation is aimed at helping kids “who need additional learning support socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually,“ according to Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA.

“They can all benefit from the “affordable quality childcare” that is made possible by these types of contributions.”

Freedom Valley is Philadelphia’s central organization that oversees both YMCAs. The organization has a combined membership of 9,000 people within a 5-mile radius of the Audubon Y and the Pottstown facility.

The check was presented Thursday morning at a special event that featured a tour of the Audubon facility at 2460 Boulevard of the Generals. There was also a presentation of the Mascaro “RESPECT” Program along with talks by local officials as well as ones for pre-kindergarten and summer day camp children to talk about the importance of recycling.
