Fans of fast-fashion in Montgomery County are in for a treat, as world famous fast-fashion retailer Zara will soon be opening at King of Prussia Mall, writes Suzette Parmley for Philly.com.

Since entering the U.S. market, Zara has quickly gained popularity among teenage girls. So much so, that its stores often have a line of customers waiting for them to open.

Bob Hart, mall manager for King of Prussia, said that retailers of fast-fashion continue to gain popularity thanks to its combination of accessibility, affordability, and immediacy.

“Consumers can see the trends on the runway and shortly after buy them at an affordable price point in their own backyards,” he said.

The model also works from a retailer’s perspective as it creates demand which translates to fast turnover of merchandise.

According to national retail consultant Howard L. Davidowitz, Zara managed to capitalize on this model and has become one of the most dominant and biggest fast-fashion retailers in the world,.

“It delivers fashion knockoffs in a few weeks from concept to ready for sale,” he said. “It is wildly popular with younger shoppers, but has a broad appeal.”
