MCCC Looks to Become Regional Entrepreneurial Hub

By

In an effort to help students and families who are facing financial challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic, MCCC has frozen tuition and fees for next academic year.

Montgomery County Community College is looking to become a regional entrepreneurial hub to help students and community members achieve their full entrepreneurial potential, writes Gaetan Giannini for Technical.ly.

The Blue Bell institution is implementing a number of projects and programs. Through this, it hopes to encourage both students and community members to discover their entrepreneurial potential and cultivate it with their ideas. The goal is to help establish an exciting and thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.

Giannini, Dean of Business and Entrepreneurial Initiatives at MCCC, said that the school is actively developing several entrepreneurship initiatives. These include certificate program, co-working and incubator spaces. The school is also looking to collaborate with nearby high schools to promote courses in entrepreneurship.

As part of the initiative, entrepreneurs submit plans for their business to the fund’s review committee. It appraises them on a range of areas including financial viability and the potential benefits to Montgomery County.

The competition is open to all organizations that are either located in Montgomery County or frequently work in the region.
