Bala Cynwyd’s  Citron & Rose Tavern and Market has reopened with a new look and a menu that offers homely comfort foods, writes Rachel Winicov for Jewish Exponent.

David Magerman, CEO of Six Points Restaurant Group, said that originally Citron & Rose had a more expensive niche menu. This meant that customers mostly only came on special occasions. The revamped restaurant now has a dine-in tavern open Saturday evening through Friday afternoon for lunch and dinner.

The new lunch menu offers sandwiches and salads, while for dinner there are still some upscale offerings including braised beef short ribs, fish, and chicken. The restaurant has also retained its kosher certification along with its six beers on tap, local whiskeys, wines, and cocktails.

According to Magerman, the new restaurant “is family-friendly at a price point that can serve the whole community, every day.”

To go along with the restaurants new food, it is opening a to-go market stocked with already cooked meals. These will be dairy-free in line with its kosher certification.
