Ambler Yards Woos Businesses with Easy Commute and On-Site Amenities
Once a chemical company campus, Ambler Yards is now home to a growing number of companies that are taking advantage of its easy commuter access and numerous on-site amenities, writes Natalie Kostelni for Philadelphia Business Journal.
“There’s nothing like this around,” said Karl Miller, vice president and principal of Kupper Engineering, which recently leased 20,000-square-feet at Ambler Yards. “Our organization is getting younger, we need to attract younger talent and they want amenities and access to public transit.”
This sentiment is echoed by many, which has helped the current owners attract tenants for around 100,000-square-feet. This makes the 14-building property just under 50 percent leased.
In addition to Kupper, other tenants include MPD Chemical with 37,680-square-feet, GEO Chemical with 9,570-square-feet and Second Spark with 3,000-square-feet. The property also has signed letters of intent for another 25,000-square-feet.
Most tenants are from the general area, but the owners agree that it is not for everyone.
“We’re not a place where a corporate tenant is going to come,” said Matt Sigel, who is redeveloping the property together with Marc Policarpo.
