The 26th annual edition of the Pottstown Rumble, the largest grass doubles volleyball tournament in the world, will take place this weekend, from June 24-25, at Memorial Park on West King Street in Pottstown.

More than 3,500 men and women from across the United States and Canada will vie for nearly $20,000 in prize money. Hundreds of spectators will gather to watch athletic excellence across 173 courts.

Food trucks, music, and vendors will be on hand. So will representatives of Valley Forge Sports, the division of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board that assisted in attracting the event to Montgomery County.

Monty the Fox, Montco’s official mascot, will be there as well.

The rumble started humbly, with three organizers hosting 200 players on 40 nets for one day in 1991. Now, the 2017 tournament will include several Olympians.
