Philly Among Top 50 Places to Celebrate Easter
Whether yours is an egg-dying, chocolate- or marshmallow-eating, goodie-hunting extravaganza or a “holy experience” that “celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and represents the ‘new covenant’ between God and humanity,” Easter is shared by 80 percent of Americans, according to a new WalletHub report by Richie Bernardo.
And while the Philadelphia area isn’t as high on the list as Pittsburgh is, the city and suburbs are among the top 50 places to be for the single most popular church day of the year — 51.9 percent of adults plan to attend an Easter worship service.

Philly’s rank is officially No. 48 on WalletHub’s 2017 Best Places to Celebrate Easter, though it fares better for Easter observers in general — 23rd — than for Easter traditions, Easter weather or Easter for kids, which are the criteria for which the rankings are based.
And the average Easter celebrant plans to spend $152 for the occasion.
