Bala’s Entercom Looking to Transfer 14 Stations Acquired Through CBS Radio Deal

To comply with U.S. antitrust regulations, Bala Cynwyd-based Entercom has reached an agreement to sell eight of its radio stations in California. (Montco.TODAY file photo.)

Bala Cynwyd’s Entercom Communications is looking to sell or swap fourteen of the FM stations it recently acquired in a deal with CBS Radio, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The stations will be placed into the TDC Communications station trust run by broker Elliot Evers until their fate is determined. However, none of the six CBS Radio stations that cover the Philadelphia area will be affected.

In a filing with the SEC, the company stated it will include one station each in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Wilkes Barre-Scranton, two each in Boston and Seattle, three in Sacramento, and four in San Francisco.

The CBS Radio deal, which grew the number of Entercom’s stations to 244 nationwide, is expected to close in the second half of this year. The names of the affected stations are expected to be released soon after.
