Karamoor Estate's densely planted vineyard promotes even and full ripening by asking the vine to produce less fruit (esentially, making the vine do less work, allowing it to concentrate on fully ripening a smaller crop).

Anyone looking to find out more about the process of winemaking while enjoying several delicious wines should look no further than Karamoor Estate Winery in Fort Washington, writes Paul Vigna for Penn Live.

The Montgomery County winery has seen its profile rise in the last five years, helped in part by occasional tours of its premises.

These provide an inside glimpse into how its wine is made. According to Ali Duloc who is in charge of the winery’s marketing and the tours, “People are loving them.”

Dates for the future events are available through the winery’s newsletter to its subscribers, with tickets costing $50 per person.

Tours usually last around two hours including a tour of the property and winery. The experience is rounded off in the brand new private tasting room overlooking the vineyard where guests get the opportunity to taste some of the wines.

“At least 4 of our signature wines and then usually we break out 1 of our special wines as well,” explained Duloc.

The next three tours will take place on January 13 and 16 and February 3. Tickets are available through the winery’s website here.
