For $3.1 Million You Could Own Sam Hinkie’s Bryn Mawr Mansion

Sam Hinkie bought the 8,453-square-foot home in 2014 for $2.66 million after the 76ers hired him with the hopes of turning around one of the league’s premier franchises.

Sam Hinkie, the controversial former general manager of the 76ers, is further cutting his ties with Philadelphia by selling the Bryn Mawr mansion he lived in during his time running the team, writes Jonathan Tannenwald for Philly.com.

The 8,453-square-foot mansion is surrounded by yards on all sides and also features a custom library, mudroom redesign, deck, and patio.

The huge home which is located close to Villanova’s campus has been put on the market for $3.1 million.

That is nearly half a million higher than the original price Hinkie paid for the property when he took over the team three years ago.

Hinkie’s well-known high-risk approach to building a roster caused strife between him and nearly everyone else involved with the club, including the fans.

After amassing a 47-195 win/lose ratio, which is the NBA’s worst record, Hinkie resigned and moved to Silicon Valley, leaving his Bryn Mawr home ready for a change in ownership.

The mansion was built in the 19th century, and is located on a private cul-de-sac which overlooks 25 acres of the Harriton Farm Preservation.

The three-level home has five-bedrooms and seven-bathrooms. The 8,453-square-foot mansion is surrounded by yards on all sides and also features a custom library, mudroom redesign, deck, and patio.

A stone wall that serves as the house’s axis also includes three floor-to-ceiling fireplaces.
