Controller

This position manages all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing. He/she reviews, evaluates, and implements accounting systems, policies, and procedures, and ensures all financial reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner. The person prepares and presents financial statements and related reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree – CPA is preferred – and have four to six years of related experience. He/she should have working knowledge of forecasting, financial reports, and GAAP accounting practices. The person will have the demonstrated ability to interpret economic conditions and anticipate the impact on the organization.

Transportation Manager

This position focuses on continuous improvement of the company’s internal route drivers and common carrier performance. This individual schedules and monitors all loads on a daily basis. In accordance with the company’s 24-hour schedule, he/she will need to resolve transportation issues during off hours as they arise. The person works with the sales department, warehouse manager, purchasing, company drivers, brokers, and common carriers to drive customer satisfaction while reducing overall transportation cost.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree, and have five years of experience in a transportations role or warehouse supervision. He/she should have knowledge of DOT regulations, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The person should possess a strong budgetary sense in order to minimize cost throughout the transportation department.

Category Manager

This position is responsible for overseeing the sourcing of designated categories (including proteins and produce) in a quantity and quality that will allow Benjamin Foods to meet and exceed strategic net sales goals, simultaneously fulfilling all customer requirements. He/she shall be responsible for supervising the physical inventory stocks, emphasizing proper quantity levels, while maintaining superior product quality. The person is responsible for identifying prospective new vendors and new product items.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a closely related field, and have seven to 10 years of experience working in a food distribution environment. He/she should have the ability to solve purchasing-related problems and deal with a variety of pricing variables in situations where some standardization exists.
