The popular restaurant savings app Spotluck that launched in Philadelphia this month will be expanding its reach to the suburbs, including Montgomery County, writes Kenneth Hilario for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Starting early next month, Spotluck will be offering its service in both Blue Bell and Ambler, as well as in University City. Participating restaurants in Blue Bell and Ambler include Blue Bell Inn, From the Boot, Lucky Well, Dettera, and Bridget’s.

The Maryland-based company offers savings of up to 35 percent on dinners at local participating restaurants. The app is driven by adjusting prices, as the people behind the concept believe that prices on a rainy Tuesday should not be the same as on a busy Friday night.

The app has had a good first month in Philadelphia, after starting with seven downtown neighborhoods. Word of the app quickly got out, encouraging Spotluck to announce it will be moving into the suburbs as well.

“We’re truly excited that Spotluck is already growing into the great neighborhoods surrounding the city,” said Cherian Thomas, Spotlucks’s CEO.
