Director of Medical Affairs

This position will be responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy in support of the Research & Development and the Commercial strategy. He/she will ensure accurate and robust medical-scientific knowledge, and clinical expertise, is appropriately communicated through scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) regarding Trevena’s products. The Director, in collaboration with appropriate colleagues, will identify the gaps in medical and scientific support and create and implement initiatives to address them.

The ideal candidate will possess an MD with three to five years of experience, or a PhD or PharmD with five to eight years of experience working in and leading medical affairs initiatives with pharmaceutical/biotech companies. He/she will have a demonstrated track record of contribution to commercial, medical, and/or clinical development strategies.

Research Chemist

This position will be responsible for designing, synthesizing, and characterizing pharmaceutically relevant small molecules. He/she will collaborate with biologists and other cross-functional team members to identify lead compounds for drug discovery projects. The person will also establish structural activity relationships (SAR) of chemical series.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in organic chemistry with at least three years of postdoctoral or biotechnology/pharmaceutical experience, or an MS in organic chemistry with at least six years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical experience. He/she should have strong synthetic and medicinal chemistry skills. The person will have the ability to integrate biological and PK data into SAR model.

Biology Associate

This position will be responsible for conducting cell-based assays to develop structure activity relationships on medicinal chemistry derived compounds. He/she will maintain critical cell culture lines, and perform compound handling for assays including solubilization, serial dilution, and plate‐to‐plate transfers. The person will analyze and evaluate experimental data, and maintain electronic notebook and enter pertinent data into database.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in biology or a related field, and have experience with mammalian tissue culture and molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, etc.). He/she should have strong written and oral communication skills. Biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
