The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken is proving to give Montgomery County a real boost. As sports tourism in the county continues to grow, The Proving Grounds is filling the need for a sports facility complex.

County officials over the past year held talks with developers exploring opportunities to make the complex a reality. But to meet growing demand, an existing sports complex – The Proving Grounds – is investing millions of dollars to expand, writes Kenneth Hilario in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Building a multi-use sports facility complex in Montgomery County could generate over $100 million in economic impact, according to a feasibility study released in February 2017 commissioned by the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, Montgomery County’s destination marketing organization.

No shovels hit the ground yet, but the tourism board held several meetings with potential developers since the feasibility study was released, Chief Marketing Officer Ed Harris told the Philadelphia Business Journal.
