Narberth Residents Bristle as EV Charging Stations Pop up on Neighborhood Streets
Narberth residents are pushing back on the borough’s installation of EV charging stations on neighborhood streets. Aziza Schuler reported their displeasure for CBS News Philadelphia.
“We don’t want this sign that looks like Texaco out front,” said Joann Giangiulio, commenting on the unit that appeared outside her condo.
It’s not only the aesthetic that bothers her (and others) — it’s also the fact that the installations come without notice.
The issue has been jolting residents’ blood pressure upward since March.
Borough Manager Samatha Bryant reminded protestors that sidewalks are borough property and that notification of EV charging station differs from “… asking for consent.”
Still, Gianguilio is resolute. “The unit needs to be moved,” she said.
The borough has indicated no intention to comply with Gianguilio wishes.
However, it also cited no means of confirming how many Narberth residents own electric cars.
More on the EV charger station issue in Narberth is at CBS News Philadelphia.
