Six Montgomery County school districts ranked among Pennsylvania’s top school districts for 2022, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Lower Merion School District ranked highest, coming in fifth place in the state and third place for the Philadelphia region.

Next on the list is Upper Dublin School District, which broke into the top 15 at No. 14. Wissahickon School District follows at No. 20.

Spring-Ford Area School District placed in No. 28 in the state, followed by Colonial School District in No. 30.

The list is rounded out by Lower Moreland School District in No. 35.

Overall, half of the top 20 school districts are from Philadelphia’s collar counties.

However, this is the first time in seven years that a Pittsburgh-area school district (Upper St. Clair) took the top spot, dethroning Unionville-Chadds Ford from neighboring Chester County.

The Pittsburgh Business Times compiled the list by ranking close to 500 school districts across the Keystone State based on their students’ scores on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment and the Keystone Exams.
