Abington chancellor named as one of most powerful education leaders in Pennsylvania, reports Penn State News.

Chancellor Dr. Margo DelliCarpini of Penn State Abington has been recognized by City & State PA, the statewide media organization, as part of their Higher Education Power 100 list.

DelliCarpini came into the Chancellor role in 2021, overseeing a large campus that has 3,700 students studying 23 majors as well as an MBA program partnership with Penn State Great Valley and NCAA Division III athletics program.

Many students at the Abington campus are adult college students or first-generators college students.

“Our work has to be carried out intentionally, institutionally and systemically. It’s imperative that we invest our efforts and energy around creating equitable and inclusive campuses, so we have the right supports for our students to keep them enrolled, to keep them successful, and to connect them to the professions they are going to go into once they leave us,” she said.

Prior to arriving at Penn State Abington, Dr. DelliCarpini was vice provost for strategic educational partnerships and dean of the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
