Ambler-based Bradford White recently launched a charitable giving initiative, Industry Forward, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of the plumbing and HVAC industries and supporting career opportunities within those industries, writes Melina Druga for the Pennsylvania Business Report.
The initiative started by the manufacturer of water heaters, boilers, and storage tanks will also fund industry workforce development training programs and advocate for policies that will benefit trade skills training. Grant funding will also be made available to organizations featuring programs that align with and support the mission of the initiative.
“Industry Forward is a critical investment in the awareness, education, and training our industry needs to address the chronic workforce gap we’re facing,” said Carl Pinto, Jr., Bradford White’s senior director of marketing communications.
The two industries offer a range of career opportunities in the traditional skilled trades, “but many people overlook these paths because of the mistaken perception that manufacturing and residential and commercial service jobs aren’t viable long-term options,” he added.
The initiative plans to establish partnerships that will support individuals and families in underserved and underrepresented communities in an attempt to improve their access to job skill training and career opportunities.
