Current designs have not changed, in a beneficial way, for decades. Until the design was completed, there was a great need for improved protection, comfort, and performance. The patent-pending Properly Made Masks design meets those needs.

As COVID-19 reached a pandemic status in March 2020, governmental mask mandates were put into place.

Quickly consumer demand surpasses supply and people were buying disposable and cloth masks or making masks at home from everyday materials.

The inventor, John Melching Jr., wasn’t satisfied with the products he could find in the marketplace. Those masks were uncomfortable to wear and didn’t fit correctly, allowing contaminants to be let in or out of the masks.

After days of exhausting research, he discovered that masks hadn’t been reengineered in almost 100 years, so he decided to create Properly Made Masks to make a mask that maximizes protection, comfort, and performance.

The masks are made of 100% silk, with rigid side brackets eliminating gaps on both sides of your face and the adjustable lanyard eliminates ear discomfort.

Properly Made Masks was created by recognizing the absolute need to redesign face masks and to save human lives.

John and his team also give back to the community, with Hugs for Brady, The Ear Community Organization, Covenant House, and The Wounded Warrior Project.
