The number of cases has started increasing once again over the last two weeks, keeping Montgomery County at a very high risk level for the coronavirus, according to The New York Times.

The numbers of hospitalized patients and COVID-19-related deaths have remained roughly the same compared to two weeks ago, while the test positivity rate stayed high.

In the past two weeks, an average of 201 cases per day were reported in the county, which is a 22 percent increase. Since the start of the outbreak, approximately one in 14 residents have been infected, totaling 59,046 reported cases.

Meanwhile, average I.C.U. occupancy was at 79 percent as of March 18.

December still remains the month with the highest number of reported cases in Montgomery County.

The rate of cases in Montgomery County is in line with those in neighboring counties, most of which are also at a very high risk level.
