The number of cases has remained about the same over the last two weeks, keeping Montgomery County at a very high risk level for the coronavirus, according to The New York Times.

However, the numbers of hospitalized patients and COVID-19-related deaths have fallen once again compared to two weeks ago. The test positivity rate still remains high, suggesting that the number of cases may be undercounted.

In the past two weeks, an average of 166 cases per day was reported in the county. Since the start of the outbreak, approximately one in 15 residents have been infected, totaling 56,687 reported cases.

Meanwhile, the average I.C.U. occupancy was at 77 percent as of March 11.

December still remains the month with the highest number of reported cases in Montgomery County.

The rate of cases in Montgomery County is in line with those in neighboring counties, most of which are also at a very high risk level.
