The week of Sept. 21, King of Prussia District along with Upper Merion Township and sponsors honored the community’s first responders with UMT’s first annual First Responders Appreciation Week.

The Appreciation Week, presented by the Valley Forge Shopping Center, kicked off with a luncheon and press event at Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company.

Speakers, including Executive Director of KoP District Eric Goldstein, Chair of the Upper Merion Township Board of Supervisors William Jenaway, PA State Representative Tim Briggs and Chief Nolan of the Upper Merion Police Department, expressed their appreciation and pride for the township’s first responders.

Honorees from the We See You, KOP campaign, recognizing essential workers during the pandemic, were also present and received a round of applause from attendees.

The remainder of the week was filled with a breakfast, lunch, and two dinners courtesy of the KoP business community that fire fighters, police officers, and paramedics were invited to enjoy in appreciation for their countless contributions to the community.

King of Prussia District, on behalf of all participating businesses, also made a $2,200 donation to Upper Merion Emergency Aid, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to families in need from Upper Merion.

As a deeply compassionate community, King of Prussia’s first responders exemplify the strength, pride, and support that unite KoP and are beyond deserving of recognition for all they do for the health and safety of the community.
