VFTCB to Recognize Hospitality Employees with Hotel Heroes Initiative

By

The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board will recognize hospitality employees for their exemplary work during the pandemic with a new “Hotel Heroes” initiative.

The organization is putting a particular spotlight on the Montgomery County travel industry and its 80 hotels by honoring different “Hotel Heroes” each week on its social media channels, which jointly have more than 160,000 followers.

“These bold individuals, and #MontCoStrong leaders, are being recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty in their lodging responsibilities, making them legends among their peers,” said Mike Bowman, President & CEO of the VFTCB. “The standout superstars will showcase a variety of hotel staff from sales directors to housekeeping attendants, and culinary team members all across the county.”

Anyone nominating Hotel Heroes will have to provide their background, what they did during the COVID-19 pandemic to go above and beyond, and why they love what they do.

The first hotel hero has already been selected: Litsa Balaska, Front Desk Supervisor at the DoubleTree Philadelphia West in Plymouth Meeting.

Balaska worked tirelessly while in her second trimester, always on call for her colleagues when they need something, and goes above and beyond for each and every guest.
