The clear winner of the social media feud between Gazzo’s Steaks and Deezy’s Famous Cheesesteaks is Pottstown, reports Kevin Kinkead for Crossing Broad.
Earlier this week, local favorite Gazzo’s took to Facebook to call out a wave of negative reviews allegedly linked to Deezy’s and its partner, Artillery Brewing Co. The post alleges the review bomb was a coordinated campaign of their rivals. The post was equal parts serious and cheeky, ending with “Let’s keep the beef on the grill.”
By the following morning, both sides had settled things with a conversation, a handshake, and a shared goal of lifting up a rising Pottstown. Each business publicly acknowledged the misunderstanding. For his part, Artillery’s General Manager, Riley Connell, explained the review bombing was the work of a rogue former employee.
In turn, Gazzo’s discouraged retaliatory reviews and fueled the flame of a potential High Street Cheesesteak cookoff.
Both Gazzo’s and Deezy’s are committed to helping Pottstown thrive. If the two meet for a future competition, the people of Pottstown win, regardless of the outcome.
