Arcadia University’s Grey Towers Castle has been recognized as the Best Wedding Venue in Montgomery County in a public vote by Montco Happenings. This is the first year the Castle has been included in the voting process.
Weddings are held throughout the stunning main level of this National Historic Landmark. The guests are swept away in the grand and ornate designs of the great hall and dining room, as well as the Rose and Laura Minerva Korman Mirror rooms which boast elegance and character. These luxurious locations are ideal for holding cocktail hours and receptions.
“It’s such an honor to receive this recognition,” said Senior Director of University Relations Lisa Stephens, who oversees the Office of Conference and Event Services. “The Castle is a beautiful and unique space that the Arcadia community loves, and it’s wonderful to know the Montgomery County community loves it too.”
Grey Towers Castle is in Glenside and was built by renowned architect Horace Trumbauer in 1898 as the estate home for the Harrison family. Trumbauer would later go on to design the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The inspiration for the design of the Castle was Alnwick Castle, the medieval seat of the Duke of Northumberland in England.
