Bala Consulting Engineers Inc. of King of Prussia expands to D.C.

With its latest acquisition of Meta Engineers, a Northern Virginia firm, Bala Consulting Engineers has landed footprints in the Washington D.C. market.

The deal with Meta, which was established in 1979 has has 17 employees, is the fifth of the decade for Bala and brings the totals of employees for Bala to 200. The first deal for Bala was in 2009 when it acquired  the Philadelphia firm Paul H. Yeomans, writes Natalie Kostelni in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

“We have been looking in D.C. since we did the New York deal but Boston landed in our laps,” said Michael G. Anastasio, Bala’s president and one of its four founding partners. “The more deals we do the more opportunities comes across our desk. We’ve been active in this M&A space.”

Meta and Bala both boast portfolios with diverse client needs, supporting organizations in health care and higher education to businesses renovating office interiors. Meta also has worked on places of worship and government projects.
