MCCC appoints executive director of Enrollment Management

Montgomery County Community College welcomed Michelle H. Brown-Nevers, Ed.D., as the Executive Director of Enrollment Management on March 4. In this role, she will oversee admissions and enrollment services.

“Michelle has extensive leadership experience in multiple areas of enrollment management and will be an asset to our student services team,” said Phil Needles, Vice President of Student Services. “She is a strong supporter of the College’s mission to help students succeed.”

Brown-Nevers’ experience spans more than 25 years of service leading several teams and units at both the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University. Her start in higher education was at New York City College of Technology, formerly New York City Community College.  During her career, she has directed several successful projects including the implementation of a new accounts receivable and billing system, online transcript servicing and a content management system. At Columbia, she led a Student Services Transformation initiative to bridge several student service functions to provide a more efficient, streamlined process for students.

Prior to joining MCCC, Brown-Nevers was the president/CEO of her own consulting firm and performed consulting assessments for several higher education institutions, including George Washington University, Lafayette College, McGill University in Canada and SUNY Sullivan, among others. She also has served as a guest lecturer at several institutions.

“I look forward to meeting and working with area high schools and community members to strengthen our partnerships and expand our programs for students,” said Brown-Nevers, who will be responsible for creating and executing the College’s strategic enrollment management plan.

Brown-Nevers holds a Doctorate and Master in Education degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Education degrees from Baruch College (CUNY). She also completed certificate programs at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and Columbia’s Business School. Additionally, she completed the Leadership at Penn Program at the University of Pennsylvania and the Civitas Leadership Development Program at MCCC.
