Kimberton Whole Foods recently opened of a new store at 222 E. Main St. in Collegeville, Pa., its first in just over three years.

To the surprise of Terry Brett, who established the grocery chain 32 years ago with his wife, and other employees, shoppers actually showed up and in a good number, despite the late March nor’easter that struck the region just before the opening, writes Natalie Kostelni at bizjournals.com.

The last time Kimberton opened a store was December 2014 in Malvern, and it’s now on track to open one per year as it expands across the region. Brett is encouraged by the rollout of the Collegeville location and attributed shoppers’ early positive response to the new store on several factors including its size, visible location off Route 29, Kimberton’s brand becoming stronger and making more prepared foods on site.
