Valley Forge and Montgomery County are great meeting destinations because the region is home to more than 75 world-class hotels, 300 cutting-edge meeting venues, 1,600 restaurants, and unique team-building opportunities, all away from busy city life.

In fact, the hotel tax, 4 percent, is one of the lowest in the region according to our findings, and there’s free parking. Just minutes from Philadelphia, the suburbs provide convenient access to major roadways, the Philadelphia International Airport, public transportation, and area attractions, according to VFTCB.

“When I go to New York to court corporate clients here, we sell this as a retreat that’s less than two hours away from the hustle and bustle,” said Gary Murray, chief brand accelerator at the hospitality marketing firm, Hurray Brands.

He’s also a consultant to Normandy Farm Hotel and Conference Center in Blue Bell, and the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown.

“It’s a beautiful county we live in, and we do a lot on premises,” Murray said. “Normandy Farm, for example, is a designed venue that specifically targets a comprehensive experience with meeting space, dining, an art gallery, and team-building all on site. Montgomery County has lots of places like that, but the differentiator is, we all have that unique flavor of history, and work well together. That seamless connection makes us more powerful.”

Montgomery County’s hotel rates are also 30 percent less than others in the area, according to Smith Travel Research. The countryside is home to more than 8,500 rooms ready to host your next meeting or event with comfortable, modern amenities at affordable rates.

“Our clients expect a high level of quality and attention to detail,” said Murray. “We can cater to the executive and CEO-level needs on property.”

The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board also offers incentives including the Meeting Planner Rewards Program, earning up to $3,000 for your next meeting. The program is open to all new meetings with at least 50 room nights.

“Our organization tries to distinguish itself from other convention boards, and one of the ways we do that is through various event funding programs,” said Marc Kaminetsky, director of sports, tourism, and convention sales.
