Collegeville’s Ursinus College is 107th on the 2017 Forbes Grateful Grads Index of the top 200 best-loved colleges, writes Mary Lobo for Ursinus College News.

The ranking covers private, not-for-profit colleges with over 1,000 students and analyzes median private donations and gifts from students over 10 years along with their participation after graduation.

“Great colleges produce happy and successful alumni who give back in droves,” said Matt Schifrin, Forbes managing editor of investing, markets, and personal finance.

The 10-Year Median Donations per Student to Ursinus is $5,269, while the 3-Year Average Alumni Participation came out at 18.9%. This gave Ursinus a score of 73.26 which moved it 107th, up four places from last year.

“Financial support from a school’s ‘end product’ is what helps to sustain a great institution in perpetuity and allow it to flourish academically,” said Schifrin, who developed the formula used for the ranking.

Forbes also ranked Ursinus at 252 on Top Colleges, 238 for America’s Best Value Colleges, at 180 for Private Colleges, 105th in the Northeast, and 90 out of Liberal Arts Universities nationwide.
