Horsham’s Toll Brothers has reduced the planned 29-story condo tower in Center City’s Jewelers Row by six floors in its latest proposal for the development, writes Jacob Adelman for Philly.com.

The new plan was submitted after the company received notification from Philadelphia’s Department of Licenses and Inspections that its request for permits for the 29-story tower was no longer being considered.

The department considered the original permit application abandoned by the developer as it failed to provide the requested additional details.

According to Tim Spreitzer, Toll’s City Living division spokesman, the new proposal was made after Toll Brothers decided to not proceed with the zoning application for the original design. He also said that the decision to downsize the building by six floors was made as part of the Toll Brothers’ planning process.

“Toll Brothers’ interest in developing Jewelers Row remains strong and unwavering,” said Spreitzer. “We continue to plan this project in a manner that is mindful to the various stakeholders involved and will re-engage L&I at the appropriate time.”
