A year after its launch, Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners, the dental support organization from Plymouth Meeting, is well ahead of its goal of affiliating with and providing business services to dental practices in the region,  writes John George for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The organization that was founded by former Duane Morris attorney, Mitchell Goldman, closed its eighth deal earlier this month, already fulfilling its original projection for the whole of 2017.

He added that the level of interest in DSO proves the validity of the market data collected before the company’s launch. According to Goldman, the company has already spent between $8 million and $10 million on acquisitions with more potentially on the horizon.

According to Goldman’s research, the U.S dental services market is a $112 billion industry with a 3.5 percent annual growth rate. The research also found that 45 percent of dentists nationwide are over the age of 54 and are looking for ways to reduce their administrative burden while continuing to care for patients.

“The numbers showed this is a buyers’ market that has a lot of older dentists wanting to sell and very few millennials wanting to buy,” said Goldman.
