The Audubon Village Shopping Center, at the busy intersection of Egypt and Pawlings roads in Lower Providence Township, has a new owner.
The center was purchased by Westover Companies, a King of Prussia-based firm that’s anxious to get started on improvements to re-energize the center.
“The center needs updating and new energy. We are committed to our properties – we take them and make them better,” said David McManus, Westover Vice President.
Immediate improvements to the center will include updates to the building façades, landscaping enhancements, renovations to the façade of the Audubon Ale House, and general upgrades to the entire center. The goal is to get the initial work done as soon as possible, with improved access and visibility part of future plans.
McManus noted that the Audubon center, while dated, is well-located and almost full, with strong local retail shops.
“The missing ingredient is filling the larger space,” he said, referring to the anchor spot which was occupied for many years by Genuardi’s Market.
Westover, said McManus, knows what it takes to give the center a boost, having had success with six other retail centers in the area.
