Princeton’s Mistral Set to Wow King of Prussia Foodies

The new Mistral will occupy the space directly beneath the Grand Lux Cafe in the King of Prussia Mall.

The already impressive list of new restaurants in King of Prussia has just added another name in Princeton’s Mistral, which is about to wow palates with its upcoming new location in the King of Prussia Mall, writes Michael Klein for Philly.com.

Scott Anderson, the self-taught chef behind Mistral, the trailblazing small-plate specialist, has hired his old colleague, Craig Polignano to run the kitchen that focuses on appetizer-sized food.

“It’s a small-plate concept that you know you’re going to have cuisine indicative of the city or area that it’s in,” said Anderson in an interview with Philly.com.

The decision to open a branch in King of Prussia came after Simon Properties, the group that runs the Mall, approached Anderson after sampling the menu at the restaurant’s original location in a college town in New Jersey.

“We had always thought about opening a second Mistral,” explained Anderson. “This presented us the option of doing that in an area that’s close enough for me to reach every day.”

The restaurant is expected to open around two weeks after the contracting work is done on January 23 with over 100 seats available inside and 40 more on the patio once the weather gets warmer in spring.
