Weavers Way Co-op has announced plans to open its first store outside Northwest Philadelphia in Ambler in April, according to a staff report from Montgomery Media.

The cooperative’s third store will be at 217 E. Butler Ave., which was previously a Bottom Dollar grocery store.

“We’re excited about the prospect of bringing the Weavers Way combination of good, sustainable food, fair wages and community engagement to Ambler,” said Jon Roesser, Weavers Way’s General Manager.

The Co-op’s Board of Directors, which has been considering expanding for years, recently started focusing on Montgomery County in collaboration with the Ambler Food Co-op.

“We are thrilled that we have partnered with Weavers Way to reach our goal of opening a full-service grocery store that is connected to our community,” said Ambler Food Co-op Board President Kathleen Casey.
