Price of Real Estate in King of Prussia Soars

By

New condos in the King of Prussia Town Center scheduled to be on the market by the end of the year.

With an increasing demand for housing and soaring property prices, King of Prussia seems like the place to be these days, writes Candy Woodall for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

A 744-square-foot home that has not been updated in six decades is currently listed for $205,000, even though the same property elsewhere in Pennsylvania would barely fetch $100,000.

For the King of Prussia area, which has seen its population boom from 6,000 to nearly 30,000 over the last 60 years, this price is about on par. As the largest area in the suburban Philadelphia region for office, retail, and industrial space, there are still lines of people who want to get into the Upper Merion School District.

Low supply and high demand is driving prices up, making million-dollar homes commonplace in the area. The average list price for a single-family home is $771,000.

However, while demand is high, there are still around 60 available properties that may be worth checking out, ranging in price from $200,000 to $8.5 million.
