According to Daily News columnist David Murphy, “[Ryan] Howard has been a model teammate, and he hasn’t said a word about his ever diminishing role.” and that even if the Phillies wanted to trade him there isn’t another major league team with, “a need at first base or designated hitter.”
With the beer bottle-throwing incident Saturday night, fans and sports writers across the city are asking if the keeping Howard around might end up doing more harm than good to his legacy.
