Arlene Bobb, a Bala Cynwyd interior designer, always makes sure that a home reflects the owner’s personality, but that does not mean she does not encourage her clients to take risks with design, writes Tamala Edwards for 6abc.

Her goal is to show her clients things they have not thought of while also fulfilling their needs and dreams.

And since she became a Certified Living in Place Professional during the pandemic, she can now also make homes safer for her older clients who want to stay in their homes as they age.

“We don’t want to ever have a mat in a bathroom,” she said. “This is a trip hazard.”

For Bobb, taking on interior design meant fulfilling her true passion while taking a risk. After working as a teacher and raising her children, she embarked on a second career in 1998 by starting Arlene Bobb Interior Design.

The risk has paid off.

Her business in Bala Cynwyd is already a big success and she has been recognized with numerous awards for her residential designs.

Her work is primarily on the Main Line, like in Bala Cynwyd, Narberth, Havertown, Ardmore, Wynnewood, Penn Valley, Haverford, Gladwyne, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Wayne, Devon, Berwyn, Paoli, Malvern, Exton, and the Western suburbs of Philadelphia including Media, Newtown Square, Glen Mills, and West Chester.
