North Montco Technical Career Center’s Continuing Education Division will offer two health training programs, Nurse Aide starting January 22, 2019 and Phlebotomy Technician starting February 12, 2019.

Both programs intend to alleviate the growing demand for health care professionals in these fields.  According to the U.S. Department of Labor, these health care professions are expected to continue growing faster than average between 2016 – 2026.

Nurse Aide is a 120-hour course that prepares individuals to meet the state certification requirements to work as a nurse aide in the state of Pennsylvania.  The curriculum will provide concurrent experience in the care of men, women, and children.  Students will learn the history, trends, and professional responsibilities of nursing. The state exam for Certification is given at the end of program. This course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 9:15 pm & Saturdays from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Phlebotomy Technician is a 120-hour course that prepares individuals for employment as a phlebotomy technician.  Course topics include anatomy, circulatory systems, appropriate protocols and procedures, and medical terminology.  This course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

With multiple additional programs offered in six high-demand occupation sectors, you can increase workplace skills and earn the certifications employers want most:  Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Engineering, Manufacturing, Health Careers, and Driver Ed and Commercial Driver Education (CDL).  Key components to training in all of our programs reflect current industry trends and advances in technology.  Partnerships with business and industry, manufacturing, and schools have kept our programs state of the art to continue to meet the demands of local employers.
