Started by Ukrainian nuns in 1947, Manor College in Jenkintown wants to maintain a connection to its roots by increasing its ties with the European country. (MONTCO.Today file photot).
Manor College students will join the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and Catholic Health Care Services Northeast NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities) initiative on Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 10:00am-noon.

While this activity has been planned for some time, the College is offering up its service in order to combat hate with love in honor of the victims and families of the horrific shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. The day will begin with prayer for interfaith understanding and unity, led by Monsignor Peter Waslo, Manor College’s chaplain.

NORC supports older adults in their ability to remain living independently in their own homes. This particular day will see students helping our community to winterize homes by raking leaves, changing alarm batteries, cleaning and sealing windows and doors, and cleaning out basements and garages.
