‘Women to Watch’ fulfills a career goal of many years

Women to Watch™ is timely and original as Susan Rocco reveals stories of women that often have not yet been told, in spite of their success. (Image courtesy Susan Rocco)
Growing up in Flourtown, Susan Rocco was always a girl fascinated by people.  She went off to Villanova University and majored in Communications with a big pipe dream of being in media, or even better, becoming a journalist.

The problem was, she confesses, she didn’t have the guts to pursue it back then, so she bounced around from job to job searching for that one role that would have meaning for her.

In August of 2012, after a new found belief in herself, at the age of 48, she walked into a radio station with an idea for a show, and zero experience or background in broadcasting.

“I simply knew that I had what it takes to interview people, and really get them to open up,” Rocco said.  “A gift I’ve long had is that I meet people, and a moment later I’ve heard their entire life story.”

The premise of the show is to share what Rocco calls “The Real Story Behind Her Title,” with an emphasis on connecting the young girl to the leader she is today.  With recent events and hyper focus on women, diversity and inclusion, Women to Watch™ is timely and original as Rocco reveals stories of women that often have not yet been told, in spite of their success.  Her mission from day one has been “To inspire and encourage more women to pursue leadership roles worldwide.”

“Six years later, I have a weekly show on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT,” Rocco muses.  “And, a multi-media digital platform and a team of on-air Contributors to the show who are all Sponsors of Women to Watch™.”
