The Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Assoc. has been recognized for its website: www.weareTDM.com.
The Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Assoc. received the 2018 Marketing and Outreach Award, presented during the Association of Commuter Transportation International Conference held recently in Anaheim, Calif.
The marketing and outreach international award, according to a press release, is presented to one Transportation Management Association (TMA) that has developed and implemented a promotion or marketing campaign, “designed to educate and inform the public about commuting options or the broader ideas of transportation planning, impacts of transportation on the environment, or other related concerns.”
“Our goal was to create a website that holds current TDM information and resources to help individuals easily adapt their current commuting behaviors, from driving alone to alternative transportation options like transit, cycling or carpooling, Rob Henry, Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Assoc. executive director said in the release. “We do this to further our mission of reducing congestion, pollution and improving the overall quality of life for everyone in our region.”
Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Assoc. is a not-for-profit organization created to advocate and promote a viable network for the region.
Its mission is to “reduce congestion and secure economic growth for the region by reducing the number of cars on the road using Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategies,” the release stated.
The website — www.weareTDM.com — was developed as a “one stop shop” for commuter resources and Transportation Demand Management programs.
The site includes information and resources on different commuter programs, as well as the latest transportation and Transportation Demand Management news. The goal of the redesign, according to the association, was to provide real-time information and current updates on initiatives occurring throughout the country.
“Whether that involves integration of autonomous vehicles or an innovative app that will enhance a person’s journey to work, the website serves as a reliable resource for commuters to receive the latest news,” according to the release.
