As part of its free First Sunday concert series at Centre Theater in Norristown, Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society veteran and  world-renowned musician  Nikolay Gavlishin will entertain the audience with his  eclectic classical guitar stylings.

Many will be amazed that the accomplished Gavlishin  has only been mastering the guitar for a relatively short period of time, writes Gary Puleo in The Times Herald.

Gavlishin has also performed at the Wilmington Classical Guitar Society, Philadelphia Guitar Summit, and the Dr. Sandra F. Pritchard Mather Planetarium.

“I have been playing guitar for the past 9 years. I originally picked it up so I could play my favorite rock songs, but I grew to love a wide variety of genres, including classical, jazz, acoustic fingerstyle, folk, rock, and pop,” he noted.

Prompted by a desire to further pursue his passion, Gavlishin  studied Music Education and Music Performance, with emphasis on guitar, at West Chester University.
