The wait list is now open for Diner en Blanc Philadelphia, the pop-up picnic where thousands of guests dressed in white congregate in a Philadelphia public space.

Landing on the waitlist doesn’t guarantee a spot to the secret event, but it does ensure those that sign up will be notified when Phase 3 goes on sale sometime this summer. Members who registered last year will automatically be notified when Phase 1 opens, writes Kenneth Hilario in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Diner en Blanc Paris is celebrating its 30th anniversary. It’s now held in 80 cities around the world, and Philadelphia was among the first cities to host the event when Diner en Blanc International was established in 2012.

Over 5,200 people attended last year’s Diner en Blanc Philadelphia at Franklin Square (see the accompanying gallery) after Historic Philadelphia reached out to Diner en Blanc organizers to hold it there. The location was also chosen in part because of its history as one of Philadelphia’s original squares.
