Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg announced seven Mobile Veterans’ Discount Identification events to be held during the summer months.  “We are excited to join with legislators and businesses to bring this service to our veterans,” Sorg said. Sorg is particularly thrilled to work with Ambler Savings Bank, which will host Mobile Veterans’ Discount Identification events in all of their Montgomery County branches this summer, according to a press release.

“Ambler Savings Bank is a small bank that serves the community. This is a great joint effort between two entities to give back to our community,” Sorg continued. Roger Zacharia, Ambler Savings Bank President and CEO echoed that sentiment.

“We are happy to help Jeanne’s efforts to get military veterans discount identification cards,” said Zacharia. “It’s just one more way we are reaching out to neighbors and being more than just a bank.”

Sorg will also partner with State Representatives Matt Bradford and Mary Jo Daley to provide identification cards to veterans. Sorg has also worked with other Montgomery County legislators to expand the program’s reach this year.

“It is my goal to serve as many veterans as possible. I could not do that without the enthusiastic support of other public officials who understand this important work,” Sorg states.

Veterans need to bring their DD214 (military discharge) and a photo identification (such as a driver’s license) to a mobile event to record their paperwork, and in minutes they will receive an identification card.
